Setting the sky on fire

For those that live around here, Plant Bowen is visible for miles.  At one of my favorite sunset vantage points, Plant Bowen is clearly visible, and often sits in alignment with the sun.

In this shot, Planet Bowen appears to be setting the sky on fire, filling her with smoke and fumes.  It is in fact the setting sun, and smoke from Plant Bowen is nothing more than stream from the stacks.

Buckhead Skyline

The Buckhead skyline.  Story goes that in 1838, Henry Irby purchased 202 1/2 acres in this area, and established a general store and tavern at the northwest corner. The name "Buckhead" comes from a story that Irby killed a large buck deer and placed the head in a prominent location for all to see.

Grizzly Threeninetynine

Grizzly 399 and one of her cubs.  This was taken in June 2011 when she had all three of her cubs.  Sometime later, one of the cubs was adopted by Grizzly 610 - who is the daughter of 399.
