Nina's Ghost?

Nina Craigmiles was born on August 5th in 1864. She and her family lived in downtown Cleveland, TN. One of Nina’s favorite pastimes was to drive the horse and buggy. On October 18, 1874 she and her grandfather were out on a ride, and she was going too fast. The horse and buggy was unfortunately hit by a fast moving train. Her grandfather Gideon survived, but little Nina, was killed instantly.

Nina, and her family are resting in a mausoleum which is located at the north end of Saint Lukes Church. People have said that they have heard the voice and crying of a little girl coming from the mausoleum. Also, to the rear of the mausoleum there is a garden, which was constructed in Little Nina’s memory. Inside the garden is a marker, which reads “Nina’s Little Garden”. People have claimed to have seen a little girl, dressed in the 1800’s style clothing, playing in the garden and also to have had their children tell stories of playing with a little girl who suddenly disappears.

What is most interesting about the Mausoleum is the story of the reappearing blood stains. There is a portion of marble blocks located at the top of the mausoleum that have had an apparent blood stain for a number of years.  The blood stains appeared shortly after the placement of Nina’s body into the vault. These stains have been whitewashed away only to reappear after a number of days. Local construction men have gone as far as to replace the blocks just to have the stains reappear.
